On the road home
Stein Marius had a lot of good pictures I will sort in time. Here is a
few I had to put out at once ;)
Nick Kidd always have a good bunch. He will put out more as he goes thru
them.

Team Norway in final
Team Norway 2010 before the price giving.
Sadly Erik, Charles and the girls were not in the picture.
7.august - World Champs sixth and last day (Saturday) We started with 1 slot of senior that only one person flew full
time. Pavel took them all! Then we had 2 junior flyoff rounds and a
reflight of the last group sadly. Last senior round was easy flying again
so the it was only the first places that it was a battle of.
We had very little time to do other than pack as the guided tour started
10min after the finish so did not get the results. But
here is the scores I found on internet
about seniors. Juniors Brendon Beardsley won (yes the one that got
safety penalty).
A big hug to all the Norwegian team members that made this possible.
With had a great time. Also a big hug to all my international friends on
site and those that followed us on internet!
Jojo was last seen at the pool with pink champagne...
Some went on the trip to the wine castle in Arbois and lunch in Dole.
The food tasted ok served on plastic plates but there was no wine castle....
Fredrik flew Nemo in every break. Stig took over launching in the finals
Jojo landing
6.august - World Champs fifth day (Friday)
Last round was flown and we got Jojo in the flyoff finishing 10th and
well into the 15 that goes to the flyoff. Then we flew 4 finals. Sadly
Jojo flew one with launch flap all 15 min and missed the landing a bit.
Then he missed a thermal in a very short launch and got his dropped
score. Lets see tomorrow. Still anything can happen as we will fly first
two senior rounds at 08:00 tomorrow morning. And usually the first
couple of slots are difficult.
5.august - World Champs fourth day (thursday) Someone mentioned a landing contest. That is officially over from
today. What about flying straight and get 1:18 when someone else wins
with full time flying just slightly different direction after launch!
It was calm in the morning and then the wind picked up. Left a few drops
of rain now and then and turbulent conditions. Then we finished of with
some calm flights in the evening just slowly circling the air if you
could spot it. The Norwegian team had some seriously bad flights and
some good. Per is then most unlucky of us getting smashed a model in
flight and going down after rx-battery failure (first we thought it
might be something else but investigation pays of). The juniors flies
marvelous if they just get something to work on. Jojo is hanging in
there and moved up to 9th place after 10 rounds and got a good flight in
for the last slot of the day (slot
3 round 11 so round not finished yet). Results round 11
slot 2 HERE and round 11
slot 1 HERE.
Lennart from Sweden was also lucky/unlucky as he landed out and switched
model but forgot to push confirm on his radio. It smacked into ground
just meters away from us. The officials brought the plane to his wife
that just had collected his model that landed out. She refused and said
it could not be swedish as she just collected that...
My best feelings goes to David Hobby that had to drop out because of eye
problems. He will be back.
Pictures today from me, Stein Marius and Gunn.
No time to check other blogs but here is what Stig writes (in Norwegian):

Fiat!! - Per's damage
Erik and Charles in the middle!!
Fredrik on television
Fredrik happy - Kari, Nina Karoline and Gunn made hamburgers. Love you!
The French enjoying a break for them ;)
Most wanted new winch producer on the market.
Alois Hrabacek from Czech Republic (this years national champion in
czech) has started production of a winch that seems very well thought
out. The legs are foldable and will be adjustable (not showing on
picture). Nice touch adjust for F3B power and all solid built. They are
thinking about 800EUR and that sounds right. New motors used and
endplate on drum detachable. Can be reached thru Samba I think.
4.august - World Champs third day (wedensday) Calm - sunny - bubbly - windy - we got it all today. We all get some
hits but have a great time. Jojo (me got to fly probably 2km downwind
LOW just to get home 1km and hook up again to go downwind. Then back and
was short 8meters and landed at 9:18. The best flight of the competition
for me ;) Sold some lines to the Americans and filmed Cody blow up his
light plane. Wow what a sight! Scores are on the
official WC site I see though not rd7 (sorry I dont
have it either). A bit tired (typical wedensday so you
were right Tor!!) so here is some pictures (Gunn and Fredrik):
3.august - World Champs second day (tuesday) OK then. Some difficult morning rounds and some of the late rounds
also... But in beetween it was mostly easy for most as long as you did
not get in beetween in low speed. Some of the big shots landed out and
some did some midairs. Some are happy and some have nerves. It is
typical of a WC. The Norwegian team have their nicks with some bad
rounds but Jojo (me) and Stein Marius (junior) are doing fairly well and
well seated in the top. Though it is hard stuff and a top placing needs
short launching and some pin point landings.

Stig working on Per's fuse that got a heavy downwind landing.
The fancy D-box carbon/kevlar is from Vladimirs models and they can be
bought as spares. We used some of it inside the fuse
Nina Karoline (Per's daughter) was in Paris with the girls. She bought
sunglasses for 350EUR!!!!!!!! Second picture is Perfect fuse with
honeycomb.
2.august - World Champs first day Field is a mess and wet but the organizers have put together tent
pieces and most of the teams are now in shade again after the storm
yesterday. Thanks! That was good because the rain came again and we got
no official flying today other than practice. All teams got their models
checked by the officials (a big painstaking thing that takes time each
wc). Paolo and wife ruled while Sydney chimed in for the model
processing.
We had a good team manager meeting today were Serdar explained that we
needed to have the safety area because of local goverment (they got a 4
page written thing sadly) and the 2.4 transmitters does not need to be
taken in. Serdar will be CD for the WC (he was CD also in Turkey).
Very nice to see that they had proper meeting for the time keepers and I
listened in a bit. They got very strict and good information it seemed.
Stack of Norwegian models for WC - Dinner on Monday
Our Horny Norwegian lady.. ;) - Michelle with new baby - Officials
getting prepared
1.august Jura Cup last day (precompetition) A bit windy compared to yesterday but not more than a small ballast
was needed. Norwegian team is fairly happy though we dropped a bit after
discard was done. Jojo dropped 30 points only and was in 36th and Stig
Magne in 39th (of 178 pilots). That is very few points!
After the competition they held opening ceremony that we almost did not
get to since we only found that people gathered for something.. a
display of various flying and price giving. Just as we finished the
lightning displayed in the far south and rain came upon us as we flew
some of Stein Marius's models with a new transmitter (something failed
for the 3rd time this season). He lost control half way up on launch and
the model flew for 8 min downwind before it ended in a field with only
fuse damaged!! The wind picked up a lot and heavy rain made us try to
save our models and tent. The official tent we held on to just
dissapeared out of our arms and many others with it. Kind of cool and
wet to be there.... Check the picture of the english guys trying to save
their tent. They lost some models sadly that flew away.
Cody Remington won the Jura cup with a 100 and 99 landing and first
flight was 14:58,? (did not get the last digit).

31.july Jura Cup day 1 A long day in +30 celcius is over and in sometimes difficult
conditions. Though it was mostly bubling at low altitude so low saves
was the deal of the day. It is hard time for a freezing Norwegian in
these temperatures but we survive as the girls is serving us food and a
large team helps a lot.
The team is testing a bit the limits and that can be seen on the results.
But it is by purpose. 178 competors wanted to fly (many have withdrawn
for various reasons) and it was cool with sometimes 19 pilots in the
air.
Results are only after 3 rounds as we they had a problem with a few
results.

30.july 2010
All team arrived yesterday safely and all planes are with us.
Today (Friday) have been used to get installed on the field and a trip
to the centre of Dole. Also very nice to meet up with all our friends in
the community. Very nice town with lots of small streets and buildings
to look at. Tomorrow starts Jura Cup and a briefing was held (without us
knowing but we managed to get there...). Earlier in the day we
understood that they wanted impound of all 2.4 transmitters and also
some strange security zones. This means there will be a lot of running
with transmitters and lots of extra people on the launch corridor. We
have 19 lanes + reflight lanes so a long way to walk especially when
they have only 3min preperation time. --txt removed as a thnx-- ;)
The team is in high spirit and take the Jura Cup as practice and a way
to get things organized. We also got Brian Johnson and Jon Stanswood
from UK in our team and they are great guys with lots of laughs.
